Mickey,

Seems to me when we were really good back in the 80's we won games with great defense, good kicking game and an offense that would not lose games. This defense could be as good or better since the 89 defense and would you trade this years offense for one of Danny's offenses. How soon we forget. The hand wringing to me just boggles the mind.

Dave

Dave,

You are correct in the formula for winning in the 80s and I think this team will look like some of those teams especially in the front seven on defense. I am not worried but the game has changed and I am not sure you can win today without a good offense. I think this offense will grow as the season progresses but there are some big names to replace. In summary, I agree with you and it will be fun watching Clemson become dominant on defense again.

Mickey,

Let me put you on the spot. What is your best guess for out season record and post season hopes in 2014? As for me I have no clue, I have nightmares of previous optimism that has led to disappointment so I just don't prognosticate any longer.

Kindest Regards,

Kirk

Kirk,

I keep going between 9-3 and 10-2. I think Clemson is better than nine of the opponents on the schedule. I think Georgia and Florida State should be favored at home but I think Clemson beats South Carolina in Death Valley. The difference between 9-3 and 10-2 will be the slip up game. If the Tigers can avoid the slip up game then they can go 10-2.

Hi Mickey

Do you know if there is an time table on the ACC network debut ???? Please saw sooner than later ! LOL..  Do you think any of freshmen RB's will play or we they both redshirt ? Do you think Thompson will be the only WR that will redshirt this season ?  I like the Secondary attempting to make a statement with the No Fly- Zone No Fly - Zone... and I hope they do that... but do you think that the secondary is ever going to get back to the tight covering and hard hit secondary that we had when J.Miller and T. Hill and company were back there ??  Are there any new on who's going to redshirt?  Do you think that the o-line can final been an top notch o-line this year ?

As always Go Tigers !! #ALLIN #BeatUGA #BeatFSU #BeatSC

Terrell

Terrell,

I hear different things on the ACC network. I think the conference network stuff won't be ultra successful like others think but the ACC will get on board. Unfortunately I don't have a good feel on the timetable.

will have to play now that Brooks is out for the season but Fuller should red-shirt this season.

Yes at this point Thompson should be the only wide out to red-shirt this season.

I am not into nicknames but I think the talent level in the secondary is improved. Alexander, Tankersly, Jenkins, Peters, Baker and Edmonds are talented corners. Smith, Kearse, Johnson and Green give depth at safety. There are more answers there this season. I think Watson, Choice, Scott, Kitt and Priester will play. I think Fuller, Thompson, Richard, Hearn, Falcinelli, Robinson, Register and Gibson redshirt. I am not sure on Yeargin, Joseph and Rogers.

Hi Mickey,

I saw just moments ago that the young man McCloud now has been upgraded to 5 star rating so I have a question. After the performance at the Opening I read many times that Mr. Cain was being upgraded, what ever happened with this?

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

He was upgraded from the mid 100s to number 34 in the recent rivals.com top 100. He plays quarterback in high school but will be a wide out in college so that has something to do with not getting a fifth star yet. Several people I talk to think he will be given that fifth star. Some think he will be the best player in the class and is the best wide out in Florida.
