? Also How hard are we recruiting Ben Cleveland out of Stephens County Ga?

Gervonte

Gervonte,

I asked about Dye about two weeks ago and was told he is on schedule. I was told they don't know exactly when but think he is making the progress and should be a factor fairly early in the season.

Yes, Clemson is recruiting Ben Cleveland extremely hard. For most of his recruiting up to this point this has been a Clemson-Georgia battle. It is very early for this rising junior and others will try to get involved but most people I talk to close to the situation think this is a Clemson-Georgia deal.

Dear Mickey,

I read your article today, "Questions to Ask." To be the major factor is the most recent performance of the team. We have been told things would get better but that has simply not been the case.

I think a third option is possible. Leggett has been stubborn and antagonistic about the situation seemingly ignoring the realities of the team's 2014 season. Perhaps he could be persuaded to retire with a buyout to let him do so gracefully. Loyalty is a two-way concept. We deserve a coach that knows when it is time to let a new guy take the reigns.

Kindest Regards,

Kirk

Kirk,

I agree the program has slipped. I know Dan Radakovich and Leggett have met this week. What I don't know is what was decided at those meetings. I know would never resign. Not in a million years.

On questions to ask, Is fan support even a consideration? Don't believe you mentioned it.

William

William,

Yes. I think fan support is always a consideration. It is not as much in the olympic sports because they don't create the revenue that football and basketball do. However, the overall feeling around the program is important and fan support is a major part of that.

Mickey

I agree that our baseball team is not measuring up but let’s look what happened.

No. 1 Oregon State joined No. 2 Florida, No. 4 Indiana, No. 5 Florida State and No. 8 LSU as regional losers. The number of national seeds that lost in regionals matches 2007 for the most since the NCAA went to its current tournament format in 1999.

Parity – who knows but quite frankly a lot of teams that were ranked much higher than Clemson didn’t advance.

What changes do you think should be made?  Based upon an article I read seems we could use some changes but I think our facility is much better than Vanderbilt and others.

Cufan

Cufan,

College baseball is the most difficult to maintain. Your best juniors leave in the draft. Your best signees leave for the draft before they arrive on campus. Scholarships are limited to 11.7 for 27-30 players. So it doesn't surprise me that parity has hit college baseball.

There are some major changes that need to take place no matter who the coach is. They have to get on equal footing in terms of supplementing scholarships on a needs basis. They have to improve facilities for the players. Locker rooms are well below average but these two things are being addressed.

Mickey,

18-1? I was dumbfounded when I saw this score on the Tigernet website while on vacation with 3 of my children. Regardless of the outcome of the regional in Nashville, the butt kicking we had at the hands of the Oregon Ducks tells any rationale person Jack LeggettJack Leggett

needs to go! The errors we made in just about every game this season are the biggest red flag to me that we lack leadership from our coaches.

Sincerely,

Kirk

Kirk,

It was embarrassing and hopefully the low point. The defense has been bad for most of the year. I am shocked it was the major problem for as long as it has been. I know they work on it hard but I think it has gotten mental.
