Which school disappointed you the most? “It was probably Clemson. They came out there during the spring of my junior year, and I was actually pretty interested in Clemson. They came out there and got my number. But I never received a call. There’s no hard feelings or anything like that. I was expecting a call from them, but it’s all good.”-Dyshon Sims (AJC)

I am not sure what happened in this specific instance but I can tell you that I would be surprised if the staff did not have a very good reason to not pursue him. In some cases they may not like him as a player. Sometimes its character. Sometimes its academics. Sometimes its a position or a numbers thing. Sometimes they know they were not going to be able to sign him. I would be shocked if it was any other reason. I feel very confident the staff evaluated and chose to go in another direction.

I am a long time listener, big fan of the show and Tigernet. I enjoy the great job you guys, and Gal do! I was intrigued by the comments about Steve Fuller last week (Roy’s show) about possible color guys for the broadcast, and curious about W. Merrit leaving and the recent resignation of the G. Tech play by play guy, and was doing some research, and came up with the following information regarding incorrect records. Also very curious as to why some Clemson Greats have not been involved with the program e.g. Charlie Waters, Steve Fuller, Ray Yauger, Jack Anderson and others. I remember watching these guys as a kid. They were my heroes. C Waters was an All American, and had a fantastic Pro career. Just curios about Buddy Gore’s exclusion.

Any thoughts wold be appreciated. I wonder what Tim Bourett might know too.

There is no mention of Buddy Gore 1966-1968 Buddy rushed for 2,571 yards and is nowhere in the record book. He should have placed 7th just ahead of Woody Dantzler. Can anyone explain this? I have included a link to these records. Buddy was a legend and I believe held the record longer than anyone in CU history. Why is he not mentioned, and or brought back for recognition. He held the record for 18 years.

Part of the reason is a younger fan base. I am 46 and never saw Buddy Gore play. I can't comment on him. I know of him and knew he was a terrific player but as time goes by he gets overlooked. Also Gore played on some good teams but not as good as some of the teams from 1977 on.

Both seems content to be at the helm of just average programs, and when they do get to where they can accomplish something of significance, they come out with subpar performances either against lesser competition or when it's crunch time. And just like the football fans did, the baseball fans are tired of having their hearts ripped out. Do you think that the AD will remove Jack at season's in or pressure him to bring in a guy to be a coach-in-waiting for next season?

At this point I have no idea what Dan Radakovich is thinking. His policy, like most of his peers, is to not comment on a program during the season. He says he will evaluate each program at the end of each season. At this point, I don't know of anyone that knows what his thoughts are concerning baseball.

Pool play stinks to high heaven. Somehow some way need to put an end to that nonsense and go back to double elimination in some form. Even like Omaha would work. Make it a week-long affair with 2 groups of 8 and then a single game championship. Why is one 2-1 record better than another? Makes no sense. Also makes no sense to allow the winner of a play-in game to have a consistent three-day run of all 3 games at the same time(GT actually had 4 straight days of 3pm games.) Tell me that is not at least a slight advantage. Why give that to play-in winner! Good old ACC trying to purposely make things weird so that it dilutes the strength of regular season results and makes it more likely that 1 of the Big 4 reaches final game. Why even have divisions if you are going to seed based on overall record that includes some teams in other divisions but some teams don’t play other teams at all? The whole thing, regular season and the “tournament” needs a complete overhaul.

What they have now is really NOT a tournament. Should change the name to the ACC Tobacco Road Exhibition to See if We Can Somehow Keep Some of Our Guys Alive for Post Season without really having to try event.

Pool play is perhaps the worst way to decide a champion. I don't know anyone who supports it. The fans complain. It doesn't sit well with almost everyone I know. For the life of me I don't understand their reasoning.
