2013 Non-Conference Schedule

The Atlantic Coast Conference released the teams on each school's schedule on Friday for the 2013 football season. We will not get the dates of the games until February but we did learn the teams on each schedule. Tuesday we looked at a capsule of the ACC teams coming to Death Valley next season. Yesterday we had a capsule look at the upcoming ACC road games for the Tigers. Today we will preview the out of conference games on the 2013 schedule.

Team:South Carolina

2012 Record:11-2, SEC 6-2

2012 Wins:Vanderbilt, East Carolina, UAB, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Wofford, Clemson, Michigan

2012 Total Offense:376 82

2012 Rushing Offense:138 89

2012 Passing Offense:238 57

2012 Scoring Defense:18.23 13

2012 Total Defense:315 11

2012 Rushing Defense:120 17

2012 Passing Defense:194 21

Key Personnel Losses:Marcus Lattimore (RB), Kenny Miles (RB), Ace Sanders (WR), Justice Cunningham (TE), TJ Johnson (OL), Devin Taylor (DE), Byron Jerideau (DL), Shaq Wilson (LB), Devonte Holloman (LB), Akeem Auguste (DB), DL Swearinger (DB)

Key Personnel Returners:Connor Shaw (QB), Dylan Thompson (QB), Bruce Ellington (WR), Four starters on OL, Jadeveon Clowney (DE), Kelsey Quarles (DL), Victor Hampton (DB)

Notes:The Gamecocks are having the best run in the school's history. The defense loses several key stars including the top linebackers and a great DE. But Clowney and Quarles return to make up a very good DL once again. Both QBs return and will have an experienced offense line in front of them. The running backs have been banged up. There is good depth at tight end but other WRs need to emerge.

Team:Georgia

2012 Record:12-2, SEC 7-2

2012 Wins:Buffalo, Missouri, Florida Atlantic, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, Ga Southern, Georgia Tech, Nebraska

2012 Losses:South Carolina, Alabama

Key Personnel Losses:Tavarres King (WR), Marlon Brown (WR), John Jenkins (DL), Kwame Geathers (DL), Cornelius Washington (DL), Alec Ogletree (LB), Jarvis Jones (LB), Sanders Commings (DB), Branden Smith (DB), Shawn Williams (DB), Bacarri Rambo (DB)

Key Personnel Returners:Aaron Murray (QB), Todd Gurley (RB), Keith Marshall (RB), Malcolm Mitchell (WR), Arthur Lynch (TE) Jay Rome (TE), five starting OL, Garrison Smith (DE), Jordan Jenkins (LB), Amario Herrera (LB)

Notes:Georgia is coming off of a top five finish and should start there next season. The offense should be loaded with ten returning starters. Aaron Murray has a chance to break every SEC passing record. Gurley and Marshall had sensational freshmen seasons at running back. Mitchell is a deep threat and Lynch is a top TE. The OL returns all five starters. The defense has to be completely rebuilt after losing eight starters.
