Tigers return to practice after spring break |
AUDIO: Dabo Swinney after practice audio Notes from practice: - Swinney said Monday's practice was somewhat disappointing. It wasn't the tempo he wanted the first day back after spring break. - Running back Andre Ellington started doing some cutting today for the first time in cleats. - Swinney hopes to have 60 to 70 percent of the offensive package in by the end of spring practice. Swinney said they don't need all the package to win. They just need to be good at what they do. - Swinney said there could be anywhere from 8 to 13 of the freshmen that could play this fall. - Ellington's backups at running back continue to improve, but Swinney said they are not ready yet. Today they worked on their technique on pass protections. None of the backups have separated from the pack. - Swinney said he wants to be an explosive offensive team where when they step on the field the other team will fear them. - Senior defensive end Kourtnei Brown is expected to miss the rest of spring practice - and maybe longer - after suffering a knee injury. Swinney was told it was likely involving the PCL, the least serious knee ligament injury. - Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Reid Webster has moved back to right tackle from guard, and he is making a strong push to be Landon Walker's backup.
