To put it lightly, Clemson and Auburn delivered a great game on Saturday night. As a fan, I found it hard to be upset at what we saw on the field. Yes, I know we lost, but Clemson looked like the tougher team. The opening drive of the ballgame showed all you need to know about this ball club; they're hard nosed, determined, and execute well.
I don't take losing lightly, in fact, it's not an option. However, something felt different about this game. I can't put my finger on it, but this team seems to have that "it" factor that you look for in very good teams. I don't think anyone will disagree, the "it" comes from Dabo Swinney. It is clear to me that Coach Swinney has this team dialed in like we haven't seen in years. There is a confidence that I've missed in our program, but it is returning. Even so, I contend we have to win a game like that before we can officially say, "Clemson is back." The wheels could still fall off in ACC play, but I doubt it. This team looks hungry. They look like they expect to win. They appear to be prepared and well coached. Did losing this one hurt? Of course, but this team might be tougher for it.
