Spiller for Heisman Posters Available to Public Wednesday

by -

Clemson, SC - Full size growth posters promoting Clemson running back C.J. Spiller for the Heisman Trophy will be available to the general public on Wednesday, July 22. The six-foot posters will be distributed at 10:00 AM at 10 Upstate Bi-Lo stores, the downtown Clemson office of Tom Winkopp Realtor/Developer and two Bountyland Quick Stop stations. Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, Bi-Lo, Tom Winkopp and Bountyland Quick Stop sponsored the posters.

Four thousand posters will be available free of charge to the public on a first-come first-serve basis while the supply lasts. The select Upstate Bi-Lo stores, the Tom Winkopp Realtor/Developer office in Clemson and two Bountyland Quick Stop stations will be the only outlets for distribution. They will not be available at the Clemson athletic department.

The remaining posters will be sent to various media outlets around the nation to promote Spiller for the nation's top college football award.

The media campaign for Spiller will kickoff on Tuesday at Dabo Swinney's annual media golf outing at The Reserve when the posters are unveiled. The poster is six feet tall by three feet wide and has a growth chart up the side that children can use to measure their growth over time. It is similar to the poster Clemson produced for William Perry 25 years ago when he was promoted for the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy.

The photo for the poster was shot by Clemson University photographer Patrick Wright. The poster was designed by Clemson assistant sports information director Jeff Kallin and it was printed by Electric City Printing Company of Anderson, SC.

Spiller was a first-team All-ACC all-purpose player last year when he led the conference in all-purpose running. He has established 12 Clemson records over the last three years and needs just 921 all-purpose yards to become the ACC's all-time leader. He achieved these marks while splitting time at the running back position with James Davis, now with the Cleveland Browns. This year Spiller will be the featured player in the Clemson offense.

Below is a list of locations that will have the Spiller poster available on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 AM.
