Muse and the weekend visitors attended the Clemson basketball team’s victory over Syracuse in Littlejohn Coliseum Saturday, and Muse could be seen sitting with Leggett while the two watched the Tigers upset the Orange.

The 2015 safety/outside linebacker and Clemson commit out of Belmont, NC (South Point) is a two-sport star and would like to play both sports at Clemson. Over the weekend, both coaches gave their blessing.

“It went really well. I had a lot of fun, talking to all of the guys and all of the coaches. It was a fun little weekend,” Muse told TigerNet. “We (Muse and Leggett) talked about coming in for a visit and watching practice, and then coming in for a series when I can. He just let me know that they are 100 percent on board with me when I get there to be able to play both sports.”

Swinney echoed Leggett’s comments.

“Coach Swinney said he can't wait for me to get there,” Muse said. “He is on board as well with the whole baseball thing. He told me to work on the mental part of my game and be ready, and that way when I get a playbook I won't be behind all of the guys that came in early.”

Muse had 102 tackles last season – along with four tackles for loss – and had originally planned to enroll at Clemson in January. Late last year, he changed his mind so he could play baseball his senior season and perhaps cause his draft stock to rise enough to where he would picked in the top ten rounds of the Major League Baseball amateur draft in June.

Would that be enough to keep him away from Clemson?

“Time will only tell, honestly,” Muse said. “I am excited about this baseball season. I think we are going to be really good and we have a really good conference. It should be fun.”

In the meantime, Muse will take the lessons he learned this past weekend to heart.

“I hung out with a lot of redshirt freshmen, they were our hosts for the weekend,” he said. “My player host was Cannon Smith, the tight end. It's really nice talking to somebody who has been through it and can kind of give you a heads up about what to expect when you get there and the difficulties when you get there. It was a real help.”
