Chad MorrisChad Morris “He told me that he liked me, and he gave me some stuff to work on,” Bentley said. “He said that he was going to recruit me, and that is really exciting. He told me that I can always do footwork drills, and that you can always work on that.” Bentley said that working with Morris is a lot like working with his father – another offensive guru who has churned out some pretty good quarterbacks. “They both strive for greatness,” he said. “They both want to be great in everything they do, and in that way they are very much alike. I wouldn’t say there is much difference in them – they are the same in a lot of the things they do.” Bentley, who is already 6-foot-4 and 207 pounds, was offered by Appalachian St. earlier this spring. During the early part of June while at a tourney, however, he got his first big offer and it came from Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn. “It was crazy. It was shocking to me when they told me,” Bentley said of the offer. “That was crazy to see how that happened. He watched us play in the tournament, and after the championship game he offered me. It was a shock.” Bentley said that his ideal school will be a place where he can build a relationship with the coaches. “I want to go to a place where the coach has a relationship with you, and it’s just not a football relationship,” he said. “I am looking for that. You look at Coach Malzahn and Coach Morris, and they do a lot of the same stuff and they are a lot alike.”
