One of the Clemson commitments possibly flying under the radar by fans – 2013 tight end
Jordan Leggett
Leggett, a 6-6 235-pound, ESPN 4-star tight end from Navarre, Florida, committed to Clemson on March 3rd, 2012,during a junior day visit. At the time, it was only the second verbal commitment for Clemson's 2013 recruiting class. As a high school junior, Leggett hauled in 41 passes for 566 yards and four touchdowns. TigerNet spoke with Leggett and he gave us his thoughts and observations on the Dabo Swinney camp and his future at Clemson. “I thought the camp was great,” he said. “It's way different from all the rest of the camps that I have attended. They don't test your athletic ability. They care more about how well you compete.” TigerNet watched him during the camp’s positional drills and didn't see him drop a single pass thrown to him. He was also able to work with his position coach at Clemson and check out some of his future Clemson teammates. “It was a great opportunity for me to workout with Coach [Danny] Pearman,” he said. “I got a little peek at the offense and also got to work with commit
DeShaun Watson Leggett also enjoyed getting to spend time with other Clemson coaches and current Clemson players. “Coach [Chad] Morris and I rode in golf carts from practice to lunch and dinner,” he said. “I hung out with Dabo before all the practices. I talked to Tajh Boyd as soon as I got to camp since I will be wearing his number and all. I talked to Brandon Ford a little bit before practice. He is the player I know most from there and he is such a cool person. Sammy Watkins is one of my favorite players from Clemson and I got to watch him in the spring game and I got to talk to him at camp.” Players that commit early as sophomore or juniors might not have the same motivation to work as hard as players looking for their first collegiate offers. This is not the case with Leggett. “First thing I got to do is get in the weight room," he said. "That will be where I'll spend most of my time during the summer and when I get home. Also, it will be straight to online school so I can graduate early and get to Clemson in January and not red-shirt.” Clemson told Leggett that he will be used like Dwayne Allen and line him up all over the field including the slot position. Leggett said this style of play creates matchup problems. “I play slot and tight end in high-school so I have to have great footwork,” he said. “I'm pretty fast I would say and I'm just going to be a nightmare for any defensive back or linebacker that wants to play me one on one.” Finally, Leggett wanted fans to know this about his future at Clemson. “I'm coming with the motivation to win another ACC Championship.”

. That camp would be the second time I got to throw with DeShaun. He is very talented and has a great arm. It was my first time meeting Wayne. He was a cool guy and he ran light on his feet. I just can't wait till we can all play on the field at the same time.”
