(6-6, 295) committed Friday afternoon.

Leamon told TigerNet that the commitment happened just a little after 1:30, and that he had a little fun with the coaches while he was doing it.

“I just called them about 20 minutes ago,” Leamon said. “I called [Clemson coach] Jeff Scott, and then he called Coach Swinney and we got on the phone with my mom. I was talking to Coach Scott first, though, and I asked him when he was going to let me commit. He was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Then I laughed and I told him I was ready to be a Tiger.”

Leamon said Scott immediately got the Clemson head man on the line.

“He [Scott] told me to hold on a second, and he called Coach Swinney. He was telling me about being All In, and that the recruiting process was over for me. He told me if I was All In with them, then they were All In with me.”

The No. 1 offensive line prospect in the state said he chose Clemson because it felt like home.

“I had been talking to my parents and my coaches, and I just felt like Clemson was the best place for me,” he said. “It is close to home, and I feel like I already have family there because of all the guys there. I like the coaches. It is just stuff like that.”

Leamon said a visit to the Clemson campus two weeks ago with his parents sealed the deal.

“I kind of knew that is where I wanted to go, but I wanted it to be okay with my parents,” he said. “They wanted what is best for me, and they were telling me to go where I felt the most comfortable. I had visited a couple of places, but none of them felt like Clemson. They were behind me 100 percent.”

He said he picked Clemson over South Carolina and Auburn, and now he feels like he can concentrate on getting better and making sure he gives 100 percent to Woodruff High School this fall.

“I want to concentrate on my senior season,” he said. “I also know I have a lot of things I can work on, like my leadership and getting better in all my drills and my footwork. I want my technique to get better. I think Clemson is getting a hard worker and a good player. Even if I just get in at the end of the game, I am still going to play hard.”
