Ammon Lakip (5-11 175) of Alpharetta, GA now has Clemson in his final two, along with Georgia Tech.
Lakip did not make his official visit to Auburn over the weekend because Auburn cancelled their recruit weekend due to the National Championship celebration. Instead of taking another visit with Auburn, however, Lakip is moving his visit to Clemson up one week. He had been scheduled to visit Clemson January 28th, but will instead be in next weekend. He said that Clemson and Tech are the two schools that have offered full rides, so they are the leaders. “They are offering full scholarships, no preferred walk-on or greyshirt or anything like that,” Lakip told TigerNet. “Auburn moved their official weekend to this next weekend, but I am coming into Clemson instead. I am going to meet with [Georgia Tech head coach Paul] Coach Johnson this week, and then Coach [Jeff] Scott and Coach [Danny] Pearman are also coming down to visit me. I have been to Georgia Tech plenty of times because they are so close, but I want to go up to Clemson next weekend and see what they have to offer.” During his senior season at Chattahoochee, Lakip was 14-for-20 on field goals with a long of 51, and he hit on 65-of-66 on extra points.
