CLEMSON -- Clemson's starting WHIP linebacker Eric Sampson suffered a broken jaw in the fourth quarter of the Virginia game last Thursday and will have surgery to wire his jaw shut on Monday.

He will be lost for at least the next three games. Sophomore Tramaine Billie (6-1, 205) moves into the starting spot and junior Lionel Richardson (6-0, 210) will be the back up.

Sampson had started all 5 games this season and accounted for 22 tackles including 2 sacks.
