following Thursday’s camp session after showing off his skill set.

Queen told TigerNet Thursday evening that Clemson has been showing interest since the coaches made the short trip down to his high school this past spring.

“I got the offer after camp. I met with Coach Morris and he let me know that they were going to offer,” Queen told TigerNet. “He came down and watched me during spring practice and he told me that they were very, very interested in me. He told me that they wanted me to come up to camp so that they can watch me throw. I knew when I went out there today that an offer was on the line. I just went out there and tried to focus, show them what I could do and do my very best.”

Morris took time to give Queen one-on-one instruction throughout the day, which meant a lot to 6’2, 236-pound prospect.

“Coach Morris didn’t say a lot to me. During my workout, he helped me with a few things,” Queen said. “He critiqued me and told me some of the things that I need to work on over the summer in order to get ready for the fall. Coach Morris is a great coach and I really look up him. I will definitely take what he taught me to heart and really work on it this summer, because I know it will help me in the long run.”

The family atmosphere and player dedication is what Queen enjoys most about the Tigers’ program.

“This was my second time up to Clemson,” he said. “I came up during spring practice and toured the campus and the facilities. I love the family atmosphere at Clemson. I love how the players and coaches interact. I like that they are 100-percent to the program because that is what it takes to be an elite program.”

Queen is excited about the prospect of playing in an offense similar to the one he currently runs.

“Playing in Clemson’s offense would be a great opportunity because it’s the same offense that my high school runs,” he said. “They get after it on the field and compete well in every game. They had a great season last year and they go into every game thinking that they can win. I’m an extremely competitive guy and that means a lot to me. I’m very blessed to get an offer from a program like Clemson.”

Queen already had offers from Buffalo, Middle Tennessee St., and North Carolina, bur Alabama offered Tuesday and the Clemson offer came two days later. Georgia, and South Carolina are showing interest.

Queen said that playing time will definitely be a factor when it comes time to make a decision.

“You want to go out and compete, obviously,” he said. “I don’t mind competing for a spot, but I at least want a chance to play. I know there’s a chance that I can red-shirt and be three or four years behind Clemson’s other quarterbacks. Playing time will definitely play some type of role when I make my decision.”

After his stop in Clemson, Queen will make his way to Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

During his sophomore season, Queen led his team to the Georgia High School Association AAAAAA state semifinals and threw for 2,607 yards and 23 touchdowns and rushed for 942 yards and 20 touchdowns.
