, a 3-star prospect who was once committed to Auburn, will be on the Clemson campus next Thursday as part of a Fourth of July tour that will see him visit three different schools.

Flint and his family are packing up their RV this weekend, and will leave for Notre Dame on Tuesday. When they leave South Bend, they will drop by Clemson on Thursday and Georgia Tech on Friday as he tries to figure out which school is the best fit for his talents.

Flint, a 6-4, 300-pounder, said he called recruiter Charlie Harbison Friday night to let him know he was serious about the Tigers.

“They are definitely on the list,” Flint told TigerNet Saturday. “I am pretty much open right now. I am going to visit Notre Dame, Clemson and Georgia Tech. I have already been to Tennessee. But those schools are definitely in the mix with everybody else.

“I sat down and talked with Clemson in the spring, so I know a little bit about the program. I called Coach Cheese [Harbison] Friday night, and he said he didn’t believe the rumor about me de-committing from Auburn. I told him it was true. He said he was excited to hear that, and they couldn’t wait to get me on campus and that they are going to be recruiting me hard now.”

Flint said he understands that Clemson might lose four starters from this year’s offensive line, but immediate playing time isn’t the biggest factor in his decision.

“Of course, anywhere I go I want a chance to play as soon as I can,” he said. “That is included in it. But, I also want the program to be good, and Clemson is a good program. But it’s also about the education you get, and what you can do after college. The NFL isn’t always there, even though that is a dream.”

Flint was the first commitment in Auburn head coach Gene Chizik’s 2012 recruiting class, but decided that he needed to see what else was out there.

“It was all because I committed too early,” he said. “I felt like I needed to look around and check out other schools and see what is best for my future. The coaches at Auburn said they were fine with it, and they hoped I found what I needed.”

In addition to Clemson, Flint has offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Florida St., Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss. St., Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA and Southern Cal.
