has been a frequent visitor at Clemson football games this season, but during the off week it was time to bring his mother to campus.

The 2016 4-star offensive lineman out of Southern Pines (NC) Pinecrest had brought his father and brother to campus in September for a game but with his recruiting heating up he wanted his mother to get to know the Clemson coaching staff.

Pollard told TigerNet Tuesday night that his mother wanted to see what all Clemson had to offer but without the hectic game day atmosphere.

“It actually went really good. My mom seemed like she really enjoyed it and so did my baby sister. She seemed like she had a really good time there,” Pollard said. “I couldn't really get her out of the game room. My mom had some questions and stuff like that. My mom doesn't go on visits because she doesn't really like going to games or anything if I don't play in them. She goes on visits when more or less she feels like it's time for her to go on a visit. She wanted to get answers to all of the questions she had. I think she enjoyed it.”

The family was able to spend time with the entire coaching staff as well as hear about the experience of a freshman offensive lineman.

“I hung out with the coaches and Justin Falcinelli for about four and a half hours,” Pollard said. “It was fun. The coaches want me there and they told me that it's all about how I feel. They don't want me to make any decisions until I'm ready and they hope that Clemson is in the running. They talked to my mom. Everybody tried to meet my mom because no one else has. They all wanted to meet her and introduce themselves.”

Having his mom there and not having to contend with the game day crowds and atmosphere was very beneficial for the Pollard family.

“I think I would rate it about an eight. We really enjoyed it,” he said. “I think my mom and I really like the whole slow down pace because on game day you can't really experience every little thing. Everything is rushed because they are playing a game and you can't hang out with the coaches. Just being able to hang out and not be in a rush seemed like it was really beneficial.”

Clemson and Duke have been thought to be the frontrunners for Pollard’s services but the 6-5, 294-pound lineman said all options are still on the table.

“Every school is in the running,” he said. “I'm blessed and if I don't get any more offers, I'm happy with the ones I have. If I get any more then we'll just have to see. The decision will come in the spring or summer time – definitely before my senior year. I'm trying to hurry up the process because I'm graduating early.”

But, the Tigers have the small-town atmosphere working in their favor.

“The atmosphere, even if it's not game day is great,” he said. “It's a smaller school so you don't have all of the people that you do at the bigger schools, so you have that smaller atmosphere. In talking to players, they said there are days that you will see the same people that you saw at freshman orientation but there are some days that you see new people and that's what they enjoy about it. On game days, it grows substantially and the atmosphere is crazy.”
