, a 2015 quarterback out of First Coast high school, started all 14 games last season as a freshman and led his team to a 14-1 record. Johnson threw for 2,929 yards with 25 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

football camp last week, and Clemson made quite an impression with the highly regarded quarterback.

"My family and I were very impressed with Clemson. The coaching staff and the players were very nice," Johnson told TigerNet Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson said that Clemson has a "family atmosphere" and the players seem to be real close too.

"The coaching staff and the players were very nice and I had a great time with Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins," Johnson said.

Johnson also had good things to say about Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and the coaches' families.

"Dabo is a very cool and fun dude with a big vision down there at Clemson," he said. "I felt like I was at home with the coaches' wives when I was talking to them also."

Overall, it was the best college visit that he has been on so far.

"They treated me how a five star was supposed to be treated," he said. "It was the best visit I've been on thus far. They set the bar high for all the other schools."

TigerNet was able to talk to DeAndre's mother for a few minutes during last week's football camp and she let us know that her son is actually a cousin of former Clemson point guard, Ed Scott.

Johnson has already been offered by Clemson and also has offers from Connecticut, Florida, Florida State, Middle Tennesse State, North Carolina, South Florida, and UCLA.

Johnson said that he has future visits planned with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Florida State.
