Are you getting the itch to play or do you wish you had more time to prepare for the opener?

Well I think it’s a combination of both. You are anxious to play someone else because you have gone against each other so long. I just got out of a staff meeting going over the last minute details offensively like certain situations that are your preferred calls and have you covered everything. Some of the anxiety is have you covered everything? We have some special teams meetings coming up that I try to put a lot of emphasis on. You are ready to play, but it is always boy I wish I had one more day to go over this one more time.

Any update on Leroy Hill today?

We will see how he does in practice again. The thing we won’t do again till game time is put a big body on a little body. They are going to have some big guards and tackles blocking Leroy in the game. I’m not going to put him in that situation till pre-game. I’ll let him hit on some big bodies in full pads then. Since we are in shorts today, it will be a game day decision whether he is healthy enough to play. We are going out there in shorts today and go over assignments, alignments, formation recognition, coverage recognition and things of that nature. It’s more mental reps than it is putting full weight on an injured ankle. So his status will probably not change between now and Saturday.

Where do you draw the line between using Leroy Hill for Wake Forest and having an injury lingering with 10 games to go in the season?

We will weigh heavily on the doctor’s prognosis and their recommendation on whether that is a scenario that could possibly happen as far as he could play but if he does this then he could be out three more weeks. Those are the things we talk to the doctors with to see if that is a situation that might apply to this Saturday.

Will the starting kicking job between Stephen Furr and Jad Dean come down to a game time decision as well?

It could be. I think it is that close. But again as I said (Stephen) Furr is a little bit ahead, but it is close enough that we could do that this Saturday. We got a guy out there watching and if one guy is really on and the other guy is really spraying them then we would go with the guy that ain’t spraying them all over.
