Swinney on Derrick Morgan – “He is the best player we have played all year. I voted him for All-American. No doubt he is a first round draft pick.”

Swinney said Clemson backup quarterback Michael Wade is playing as the quarterback on the scout team trying to simulate Georgia Tech offense. Clemson freshman wide receiver Bryce McNeal is playing Georgia Tech’s star receiver Demaryius Thomas.

Swinney said it is an advantage to play the same team twice because the players can see themselves on film playing the team and how the other team played them. The disadvantage is the other team can study you and make adjustments.

Swinney on getting over the loss to USC: “It was a very tough loss. But you got to move on. You got a championship game. It’s what you play for.” “Nobody says after you win the Super Bowl - Yeah they won the Super Bowl but they lost to the Packers, their rivals.”

How Swinney has grown as a coach since GT game: “Day to day management of the staff and practice and trying to put emphasis on the right things on a weekly basis.”

Swinney on GT’s Nesbit – “Nesbit has a great feel for their offense. He is a very capable thrower. He made two huge throws to beat us.”
