Clemson to welcome impressive list of prospects to spring game

by - Senior Writer -

Clemson fans will flock to Clemson Saturday for the annual spring game, but Clemson’s coaching staff will play host to more than 30 high-profile recruits and commitments in what could turn out to be a big recruiting weekend.

This year’s spring game is unique in that a majority of the 2015 recruiting class will actually be playing in the spring game instead of taking a last visit. However, current 2015 commits that will be on hand are defensive end Austin Bryant out of Thomasville (GA) Thomas County Central; wide receiver Deon Cain out of Tampa (FL) Bay Tech; defensive tackle Gage Cervenka out of Greenwood (SC.) Emerald; defensive end Clelin Ferrell out of Richmond (VA) Benedictine; athlete Ray-Ray McCloud out of Tampa (FL) Sickles; and safety Tanner Muse out of Belmont (NC) South Point.

Also on hand will be six of Clemson’s 2016 committed prospects – wide receiver T.J. ChaseT.J. Chase

. Felder is a former teammate of Rahshaun Smith’s, and Felder received a Clemson offer a few days before Smith’s commitment late last month.

Felder is committed to Virginia Tech, but has expressed a desire to play with Smith on the collegiate level and told TigerNet that the Tigers are definitely in the picture for his services.

“I came down there last summer. I got to work with Coach (Mike) Reed at a camp and I talked to him a few times before I had the offer and he would always tell me the offer was on the way,” Felder said. “He seems to be a straight up guy and I feel like I can trust him. It was one of the best campuses that I've ever seen. Their campus is amazing and it's a lot of fun there. Obviously, there are other factors that play into a decision, but it's definitely a wonderful campus. Their defense is one of the best in the country. It's definitely a place in my top three.”

Another big-time prospect for 2016 is Seabrook (SC) Whale Branch defensive tackle Nyles PinckneyNyles Pinckney
