more than two years to find the right position on Clemson's football team but once he did he was right at home.

The senior defensive end had a rather unusual start to his career, trying out spots at running back and tight end but at the end of the day he was natural at anchoring the end of the Tigers’ defensive line.

Beasley finished the regular season with 32 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss for 104 yards, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and one recovered fumble, garnering several All American awards. However, for Beasley it is more about how he helped his team rather than the awards and recognition that he has received.

"It's a lot of hard work and dedication put in over the years," Beasley recently told the media after practice for the Russell Athletic Bowl. "I'm just working hard with my teammates and it's them pushing me each and every day. I'll take that with me for years to come. It's a lot of hard work over the years went into that, a lot of faith and commitment and not giving up on my ability. A lot of people believed in me and me believing in myself."

Beasley said that having a successful season and being mentioned among the nation's best college football players shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, it should be expected by those that follow and are a part of the Clemson football program.

"Nah, not really. I feel like much is expected of this team," Beasley said. "A lot of guys expect it from me. They expect me to be in those in those All American categories. I know it's a great honor, but like I said I feel like it's expected amongst this team and amongst the players that we've got at the defensive end position."

Beasley recently attended the college football awards show at Disney's Wide World of Sports and although he's not a fan of being in front of cameras or in the spotlight, he said he enjoyed getting to mingle with some of the other top players in college football.

"Oh it was great. I really enjoyed Orlando and the red carpet," he said. "It was interesting. It was fun seeing the other finalists. I talked to Scooby Wright and Joey Bosa. They seemed like pretty cool guys."

After two and a half years on the defensive line - and two years as a starter - Beasley said he feels like he is leaving Clemson's defense in better shape than when he started.

"I mean besides the records and stuff, I feel like I left Clemson in a better place,” he said. "Obviously I would have liked to have broken the single-season sack record, but our defense is No. 1 in the country. I feel like I helped out with that."

But before the Adairsville (GA) native can take his talent to the NFL, he has one more challenge to face as a Clemson Tiger - a potent Oklahoma Sooner offense.

"They [Oklahoma] get rid of the ball fast," he said. "They run the ball exceptionally well. I feel like if we stop the run, we'll have a chance to get to their quarterback."
