3-star DE has Clemson in his top three

Tee Riles knows he has a very important decision to make in the near future.

The Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer 3-star defensive end prospect boasts over a dozen offers, and he hopes to make a decision before the start of the next school year. However, he also realizes he may have to wait until he takes even more official visits.

“I am still looking at all of the situations,” the 6-4, 262-pounder told TigerNet this week. “I want to make sure I have looked at every possibility, and that is one reason I don’t have a big summer planned. I want to just sit back and think about all of it and hopefully make a decision.

“I want to make a decision before the end of the summer, because that would be much easier. But I also know that it might spill over into the fall. I just want to make the right decision for me, and if that means I have to wait and take more officials in the fall, then that’s what I will do.”

Riles said he is taking a few final unofficial visits before settling in for the summer.

“I went Gainesville to visit Florida last weekend,” he said. “And I visited Georgia Tech with my teammates because they are camping here and I wanted to see what it was like. And I do want to take another trip up to Clemson at some point during the summer, but I don’t know when that will be.”

Riles said he talks to the Clemson coaches on a regular basis.

“I talk to them all the time,” he said. “Especially on Facebook. They are always talking to me and they make sure I am still interested. I talk to Coach [Tony] Elliott a good bit, and I hear from Coach [Marion] Hobby, who would be my position coach if I went to Clemson.”

He said Hobby tells him he has a chance to play early if he were to choose Clemson.

“I know that Coach Hobby says he is going to need young people to step up over the next few seasons,” he said. “They have had a lot of people graduate and will lose another one this year. He said that younger players are going to have to step up. But I don’t worry about early playing time – if I need to take a year and develop and get better, then that is what I am going to do.”

Riles said he still considers Clemson one of his top three schools, along with Georgia and Florida.

“I have always loved Clemson,” he said. “I followed them even before they started recruiting me. Clemson is a great place, and the coaches have a lot of values. It is a family atmosphere.”

Riles tallied seven sacks and 66 tackles overall during his junior campaign.
