Pairings Announced for the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament

Greensboro, N.C. – The pairings for the ACC women’s basketball tournament were announced Monday, with North Carolina claiming the top seed for the first time since the 1996-97 season. The tournament begins Friday, March
4 and concludes with the championship game on Monday, March 7.

Clemson will be the #11 seed in the tournament and will face #6 Maryland in the first round. The game is scheduled for 8:00 PM on Friday. The Terrapins narrowly defeated the Lady Tigers, 87-82, earlier this season at Littlejohn Coliseum. The winner of the 6/11 matchup moves on to face the
#3 seed N.C. State Wolfpack on Saturday.

Friday: Game No. 1 - Seed No. 8 Georgia Tech vs. Seed No. 9 Miami, 11:00 a.m. (RSN-TV)

Game No. 2 - Seed No. 7 Virginia Tech vs. Seed No. 10 Wake Forest, 6:00 p.m.

Game No. 3 - Seed No. 6 Maryland vs. Seed No. 11 Clemson, 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: Game No. 4 - Seed No. 1 North Carolina vs. winner of Game 1, 12:00 noon (RSN-TV)

Game No. 5 - Seed No. 4 Florida State vs. Seed No. 5 Virginia, 2:00 p.m. (RSN-TV)

Game No. 6 - Seed No. 2 Duke vs. winner of Game 2, 6:00 p.m.

Game No. 7 - Seed No. 3 NC State vs. winner of Game 3, 8:00 p.m.

Sunday: Game No. 8 - ACC Semifinal 1, 1:00 p.m. (FSN)

Game No. 9 - ACC Semifinal 2, 3:00 p.m. (FSN)

Monday: Game No. 10 - Championship Game, 7:30 p.m. (FSN)

For the second straight year, six of the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament games will be televised. The No. 8 Georgia Tech vs. No. 9 Miami game on Friday, as well as the first two quarterfinal games on Saturday will be aired on the league’s regional sports networks (Comcast SportsNet, FOX Sports Net South and SUN Sports). Sunday’s semifinals and Monday’s championship game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports Net. This marks the fourth year that the tournament will have three nationally televised match-ups.
