Fans to Get First Look at Basketball Teams

Clemson basketball fans have been waiting to see the new and improved men's basketball team and Friday night they will get their first look at the players.

"Clemson Midnight Hoops Courtside on College Avenue" will start Friday night at 11:15pm. Both the men's and women's teams will be introduced to the fans at 12:00am to begin their first official practices of the 2004-05 season.

There will be a slamdunk contest(if weather permits), a threepoint shooting contest, and a free throw shooting contest. Ironically, these are areas Clemson needs to make improvements and are keys to their success for this new season. Clemson shot a dismal 63 percent on free throws and an ACC worst 32 percent on three pointers last year, so an early emphasis on these areas could definitely help.

Here are my predictions for tonight.

Slamdunk contest: Winner- Moore. 2nd place-Babalola. Sleeper-Mathis.

Three point contest: Winner-Robinson. 2nd place-Mathis. Sleeper- Hudson.

Free throws contest: Winner-Mathis. 2nd place-Robinson. Sleeper-Hudson.
