Clemson Crushes Charleston Southern

by -

CLEMSON – Charleston Southern kept Clemson’s leading scorer Shawan Robinson scoreless Saturday night at Littlejohn, but it was not enough to keep the Tigers from an easy 73-55 win. After opening with a 9-0 run, Clemson pushed the lead to 22 in the second half, and never trailed in the game. Sharrod Ford scored 16 points and nine rebounds, while true freshman Cliff Hammonds added another 14 points and five rebounds to ensure the victory.

Akin Akingbala and Olu Babalola both had 10 points before a second-half ankle injury forced Babalola to leave the game. The Tigers shot 51.9 percent from the field. Clemson committed only six turnovers in the first half and went into halftime ahead 34-23.
