CLEMSON - Herman Demmink and Kris Harvey each crushed two-run home runs and Taylor Harbin added a two-run triple, leading Clemson to a 9-6 victory over Elon College Tuesday night.

The game was played in an on-again, off-again light rain before a handful of hearty fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Harvey and Harbin continue to battle for the team RBI lead, and each had big blows for the Tigers (26-16) Tuesday night. Harbin's two-run triple to deep left-center in the bottom of the first inning tied the game at 2-2 and gave him 49 RBIs on the season.

Harvey drove in a run in the bottom of the first as well, then added a long, two-run homer off the PawVision scoreboard in left-center in the seventh. His three runs batted in have Harvery at 48 on the season.

But Demmink's blast ended up being the biggest of them all.

Elon had rallied to take a 5-4 lead off Clemson starter and winner David Kopp (3-3) on a two-out, two-run triple by shortstop Adam Weaver in the sixth inning. But Demmink quickly turned things back in the Tigers' favor, launching a two-run blast to right-center in the bottom of the inning for a 6-5 Clemson lead.

Harvey's homer and a run later scored by Stan Widmann on a balk put the Tigers ahead 9-5 in the seventh.

It stayed that way until the Phoenix (26-18) scored a run off reliever Stephen Clyne in the ninth inning.

Kopp pitched six innings for Clemson, striking out seven and walking four. Four of the five runs he allowed were earned. Clyne pitched the final three innings.

George Blystone (1-4) suffered the loss in relief of starter Kory Radford.

Clemson is back in action at 7:15 tonight, hosting Wofford.
