Clemson, SC—Number-one seed Clemson will play host to number-four seed Sacred Heart in the first round of the Clemson Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament on Friday. Number-three seed Coastal Carolina will meet number-two seed UCONN in the first game of that day. The exact times of those games will be released later.
The Tigers enter the tournament with a 41-18 record after winning 27 of their last 33 games. The Tigers are ranked seventh in the latest RPI published by Warrennolan.com and have played the nation’s ninth most difficult schedule. Sacred Heart enters the NCAA Tournament with a 34-21 record, but they have won each of their last seven games and 11 of the last 12. The Pioneers won the Northeast Conference Tournament with a 9-2 victory over Monmouth on May 22. They have not played since. Coastal Carolina enters the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big South Conference Tournament. The Chanticleers have a 41-18 overall record and have a #38 RPI according to Warrennolan.com. UCONN has a 41-17-1 record entering the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies won the regular season championship of the Big East, but lost in the tournament to Seton Hall last weekend in Clearwater, FL. The winner of the Clemson Regional will play the winner of the Columbia, SC regional in the Super Regional. Reserved ticket books will be available for $60. If reserved seating sells out, individual game reserved seats will be available on gameday for $12.
