I was doing the math earlier. Sammy has 493 total yards after 3 games.

I think that is 200 yards less than Nuke Hopkins had all last season. Unbelievable stat.

Solid stats. I think it's important to break it down for Yards from Scrimmage too, because I think including Kick Returns can pad stats a little bit. I'm not trying to downplay his accomplishments, but most players get around 20 yards per return.
His Yards from Scrimmage this year are: 371 yards on 33 touches, with four TDs.
He's averaging 123.67 yards per game, with 11.24 yards per touch. That's...just...amazing. It's great to see the hype surrounding a kid like this was totally warranted.

obvious but look at those highlight film plays, Nuke, and Brown were killing it and Peake and Bryant have just scratched the surface. Also nice work by McNeal. Of course Allen looked like an All American @ Tight end yesterday. The defense have to respect the deep ball now, so Allen can get a mismatch -- their going to have a good year.

Agreed. Allen really played out of his mind though it won't stand out on the stat sheet as much as Sammy. He was catching some really tough balls in big-down situations, and several of his catches were highly contested. We can't overstate how important he is to this offense.

Funny Sammy Story
Sep 19, 2011, 10:36 AM

Apparently Sammy prides himself on his good shape and toughness. He had never had to get a shot or anything for pain or swelling after a game. Until Saturday. He was laughing about how his butt was still numb.
I'm pretty sure Fla. State is a little more sore than we are today. I know we took some dings.

Yea but they took more. Oklahoma's defense was brutal and they were making some big, big hits against FSU...though FSU was delivering plenty of big hits themselves.
This defense is going to be far, far superior to the Auburn D, so we really need a good week of practice if we're going to win this game.
I don't expect to see another 627 yards this Saturday.
