My first question would be simply........why?

lol. theyre trying to make a program out of themselves over

there. kinda like we are, except they are absolutely bottom of the barrel and have absolutely no history.

ol usuc might have something to contend with from them in a couple of years like they did in 07

I'd go there over Coot U in a heartbeat.

1. Vandy is a prestigous university where the degree means something. Unlike Coot U.

2. For an urban university Nashville is a thousand times better than Columbia.

3. The football traditions are identical.

4. Wouldn't have to be called a ####.

5. Wouldn't have to play for an a-hole head coach.

6. Probation isn't just around the corner.

your're dead wrong with one of your points....

Jun 18, 2011, 6:25 PM

Having lived in both cities, Nashville is INFINITELY better than Columbia. If there's a stronger word than infinite that I don't know about, I'd go with that.

Vandy is just a couple of years removed from some successful seasons. I hear the new coach is selling the program as "the biggest turnaround in college football history" Should be fun to watch.... fun to watch SC lose them some more.

He can sell all he wants to. The school has no athletic department, 20 fans show up to games, and there is no "light at the end of the tunnel"

Don't get me wrong....I hope they keep beating the coots, but their program is just a shade above Duke. A small minute shade

I partially disagree...

Jun 19, 2011, 6:31 PM

the 'no athletic department' doesnt matter much. They do have one of the best baseball programs and a very competitive basketball program..

The Vandy people I know say that Franklin got the powers that be to back off a bit on the academic requirements. Their program has more potential that Duke. They have a better fanbase (more regionally established fans..alot of people that go to Vandy are actually Southern) and they play in the SEC. They will get guys bc of that. I don't know if Franklin will win (I hope he doesn't..I don't like Vandy), but he is getting guys in there.

Uh oh.

The coots just fell further behind Vandy in the recruiting rankings. LMFFFFFFFFFAO!

Lol, guess the shamecocks can't even out-recruit Vandy now. Time for Spurrier to go live in a retirement home.
