I was mocked when asked if we should offer Roper...

Well, there's your answer.

not a good offer in my opinion....he doesnt shoot well

Mar 24, 2011, 7:58 PM

enough to be that small

He shot well in the game from the video link

And he's 6'1". That's taller than three guards in last years roster. My complaint from the video (only one game of course) is that he showed no interest in getting to the basket. Looked more like a SG.

wrong...

He will be a top 100 player after this summer. I wonder how this effects Rod Hall for 2011???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well why dont you go play and get recruited so people can

Well as far as Rod Hall goes he still may have a chance.....

to get offered by CU. CU played this year with 4 guards capable of playing the point in Stitt,Young,Stanton,Anderson. This year if they decide to add Hall they will again have 4 guys in Sapp,Hall,Young, and Stanton. After next year CU will lose Young and add Roper. To me it all works out and them offering a pg for next year instead of one for this year tells me that they may offer Hall next.

He needs to work on his jumper technique

Looks alot like Noel Johnson, hops toward the basket instead of straight up and down.

this is a very good offer for the team, it will build depth and consistency so that there is no drop off from bench players. roper is very much like former Tiger Ed Scott but better at this stage and will get much better under Brownell. roper needs more strength and intensity but he is VERY coachable and has room to grow. don't let the highlight tape fool you, roper takes over a game when needed. look at the state championship highlight for 2011, the biggest stage in his season and he blew the doors off the opposing team.
