It seems to me that he is kinda saying that he might be addressing a possible coaching change coming up at a later time...?

No, the team never quit all season. Dabo quit on the team after KP got hurt at Auburn....

That is BS.

Please explain yourself Mr. Wise One. You must have inside knowledge or are a friggin' mind reader.

If so, what stock should I buy right now.

Re: Dabo quit on team?

Don't think he quit, i just think he is in over his head. Regardless, if you look at the film there were a number of players that gave very little effort. He lost that team. He addressed it when he said we lost our confidence somewhere along the way. I think he realizes that they "cheerleading" and "big-brother" approach to coaching lost that team!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The team played hard all season.

Dec 31, 2010, 4:41 PM

Unfortunately, they rarely played smart or disciplined.

agreed.

They played harder this year, but still not very smart or disciplined. If we can figure out a way to improve the mental aspect of the game as well as the physical, (and improve the offensive play calling) we could take a step in the right direction next season IMO.

For some reason Clemson does not have a focus. The players play hard and work hard but do not seem to come together as a unit. They look like players that were put together for an all star team that are put together for the first time. For too long the offence looked to Spiller and Davis to come up with the winning play. It is time for new leaders to emerge and say I am going to be the guy to make a play for this team to win.

"If he does everything in his power" then he has to fire some coaches.

Re: Dabo Swinney post game comments

Dec 31, 2010, 7:14 PM

If he is smart, he will consider what every coach on his staff brings to the table and fire/hire accordingly. (keeping in mind that his objective is to win the ACC)

Unfortunately, he will likely focus on recruiting and go another year retaining the same coaching staff and the results will be moderately better with better recruiting. (maybe)

I like Dabo, but I think he and Clemson are a bad fit considering most of the fan's desires and his head coaching experience at the moment. He has potential, but most Clemson fans have seen teams with wasted potential for years and have lost patience.

I think he would be better off as an assistant under Saban, (at Bama) and Clemson would be better off with a more experienced coaching staff that is capable of winning the ACC from day 1 rather than one that will have to lose for a while until it figures things out.

Hire Chris Peterson!
