Once again, the facts regarding Danny Ford and the NCAA:

Oct 16, 2010, 12:36 AM

(maybe this needs to be a sticky?)

From the 1982 investigation the head coach was only cited twice for violations: offerring to help find a job for a recruits mother, and, along with the athletic director and dean of student affairs, arranged for the university to pay the cost of a dental bill on behalf of a student-athlete. There were plenty of other violations by assistants and boosters, and we paid dearly.

In the 1990 investigation, Danny Ford was cleared of any wrongdoing, and there were only two other minor violations.

Surely Ford knew that getting a job for a recruit's mother was a violation didn't he?

The NCAA said that the dental bill would have been o.k. if Clemson had reported to them that they were doing it.A football player lost a tooth in a sleding accident during the winter and had a local dentist make the repair. He went home to Pennsylvania or New Jersey and never returned. The dentist was unable to reach the ex player and looked to Clemson for his bill. Clemson finally paid it, thinking is was the right thing to do. It was if they had notified the big boys of what was going on.

That is fine, but that is not why DF lost his job....

...you don't go to spring IPTAY meetings and bad mouth the University President and stay in favor. It made me uncomfortable then and still does. DF could have had anything he wanted at Clemson if his ego did not get in the way.

Regarding the talk about danny... why are some so upset? He was just telling the truth that I agree with and so should some of y'all. the program is in shambles and danny is right.
