assistant at TCU. He was mysteriosly fired at ECU and folks always wondered why.

Found this on a message board. Maybe this is it...

You know what he did.....He sent a letter to the parents of the players on his team and told them he didn't feel as though they were supporting the program the way they should be. One Parent went to the AD. The same AD that was now firing the third head coach let go by the university since Holland became athletics director last October.

A winning head coach doesn't get fired for that.

Mazey had a lot of personal issues going on at East Carolina.

Jim Slossnagle, the TCU head coach, was also an assistant at Clemson in 1993.

n. Those two and Todd Whitting make up the TCU coaching and recruiting staff and are the reason TCU is where it is at in baseball. I hope TCU and Clemson play in the finals. The Tigers have a tough half of the CWS. Beat ASU and stay in the winners bracket.
