Wait, what did that say? Did I read this right?

"It marks the first time since 1991 that Clemson has been the preseason favorite to win the title. That was also the last season Clemson won the ACC Championship. "
But I thought according to the media we are favored to win every year. Sombody is lying to make a story fit their agenda

and another common misconception of us underachieving

In the previous nine years Bowden has been at Clemson, the Tigers have equaled or exceeded the media?s preseason prediction seven times. That includes last year when Clemson was picked to finish third in the Atlantic Division, but finished the year in second place. Clemson also exceeded the preseason expectations in 2005, 2003 and 1999. The Tigers finished where they were picked in the preseason in 2000, 2002 and 2006. The only years under Bowden that the Tigers failed to reach the preseason predictions were 2001 and 2004.

My only problem....

And most say they realize it,but do they? How are you picked to win the ACC,go to a BCS game, and by some, contend for a Nat title, with such big question marks at OL and LB....I'm having a hard time with 9 wins let alone 10,11,or 12 for that matter. You can bet the teams on our schedule know that we have those ??? marks and will try to exploit it. #21

getting much slack the last 3-4 years.
A lot of people in Tally want Bdbby out. People in Happy Valley are counting down the days and Lloyd finally got run out of the Big House.
People don't cut slack for someone once they have a few championships, they expect more and more and more. And whether we like to admit it or not, we embrace change b/c it's new energy to the program. Plus, the grass will always be greener on the other side. Human Nature.

lately" sport, so let me re-phrase it for you. You tend to get cut a little slack when you've won your conference championship the previous 3 years ('86,'87, & '88). The coaches you mentioned haven't done anything lately. That's why their fans are trying to run them out of town.

the ACC Championship that year, and a GT team that would tie for a national championship the following year. Seems to me those were 2 pretty good teams. I'm not saying we shouldn't have won those games, but those 2 teams were much better than some of the teams we've lost to recently.
