He originally committed to Georgia Tech....

but de-committed after Gailey was fired. I believe his final three were Arizona State, Boise State and Duke.

I heard the 4 * QB say...

That he wanted to play for Duke and learn from a great qb coach that coached the two Mannings. After last night's game, looks like a pretty good formula!

One of the Wake Recruits...Joe Looney...anybody know if he is related to the ex-Lion Joe Don Looney?...Looney was what the name implies, a wild man

Yes, JDL was wild. After Okla. football, he was in the Pros, but refused to learn the plays. Traded around a bit and last with Wash. 'Skins. Then he dropped out of the public eye for a number of years, and finally turned up as a Trappist Monk in Tibet. He tired of that and surfaced in Texas. He was an avid motercycle rider and finally ran into a tree at a very high speed, which ended his life. This was five or six years ago. He was a great talent, but sometimes that isn't enough.
