in terms of being a leader, example setter and disciplinarian for the team, we could not have asked for a better person.

I don't think we have had a problem with leniency from our coaches or the administration. Other schools and 4 strikes policy DO have a problem.

everything. Way to accept the punishment like a man and own up to your mistake. Duane's success on and off the field is still one of the best stories of all time at Clemson. I know i was one of the ones who never thought I'd see the day that he would be a Clemson graduate. Great accomplishment and he will always be a Tiger!

possible by both Tommy and Duane. I hate that I won't get to watch the "Predator" in a Clemson uniform one last time, but I'm very proud that he is a Tiger. He has owned up and taken this appropriate punishment like a man.

It's just pot. How many people actually made it through college without trying it? People need to get over this devil weed perception.
Good PR decision though I guess. His hand was forced by social stigma.

handled better.
Bowden did not grand-stand or make a rash decision. He did his best not to let this ruin Coleman's graduation. Then he made a tough call that sent one final message to Coleman and to the team.
Duane, for his part, made no excuses, blamed no one but himself, and still was man enough to praise the people at Clemson who have helped him grow so much during his time there.
I hate that this happened, but could not have asked for a better resolution from all involved.

You said it best! Unfortunate decision to smoke pot, but we can pray he's learned his lesson through what can only be called the "proper way to handle it" by TB.
Proud to be a tiger!

Give the guy a little credit. If you've ever heard Duane in an interview he is an intelligent man, and is quite capable of making the statement he did. I know him personally and don't know if he'll ever change on the bud smoking issue, but that is, after all, his choice to make. I think the correct decision and outcome took place with all of this.

If you saw his interview footage, he was truly moved and remorseful. Duane is a good kid who made a big mistake. Leave him alone. Lets use this energy to bash the REAL criminals..... at USuCk.....

It's about breaking the law and having your name in the newpaper as a law breaker. If TB and CU are to have a discipline program, then Coleman had to be suspended.
I'm glad Coleman accepted responsibility like a man but he also hurt his team - it's like having another starter injured.
