The first game I remember losing to USC was in '87 at their place 20-7. My first loss I attended in Death Valley, was homecoming vs GT when they split with Colorado for the national championship '90 I believe(Chris Maraco was our qb). I also remember our first ever loss to uva was 20-7... (Herman Moore and Shawn Moore combo were very good).
What are some of the earliest Clemson memories you have? Good or bad

First game as a student was Spiller taking the opening kick to the house against MTSU the next year

You must mean the '89 home game against GT. The '90 loss

I vaguely remember watching the 1981 championship on a tiny little TV. I was 9. My family had just moved to SC the year before and my dad was not a college football fan, so we barely knew what Clemson was.

I watched a few games over the years and rooted for Clemson when I saw them, but I would not have called myself a fan.

I didn't attend a football game until I stepped onto campus as a freshman in 1991. 2 weeks of marching band camp turned me into a fan, and the first time I stepped foot onto the field for pre-game turned me into a hard-core fanatic. I was hooked. That was against App State and easily the hottest game I've ever experienced, before or since...I've been to games where the absolute temp was hotter, but not with a wool uniform on.
