anybody else really impressed with Ferrell?

It's just fascinating to see the Parade of Dudes that seems to be happening at Clemson right now.

Farrell is a Serious Dude. It comes across in every word he says. His talent is manifest on tape and it's obvious he has first-round physical tools but talent is cheap. What really sets him apart - and has set a bunch of these Serious Clemson Dudes apart in the recent past - is that fixity of concentration, the obvious work ethic and accountability, the utter commitment to their craft. These guys are not effing around. They are here to work. They are here to win. And like almost all of these guys you don't hear Ferrell talking about himself in the third person like he's some sort of brand unto himself; everything he says is about team, team, team. Small wonder these kind of guys have been flying off NFL draft boards in the early rounds of late. In Ferrell's case his military background is pretty apparent but a lot of our guys have come across like him lately. They hold their own feet to the fire, and demand of themselves and the guys around them.

He and his teammates got worked today. He knows it. He owns it. He assuredly isn't happy.

This guy assuredly Gets It. So many kids his age don't seem to. Which tells you these guys are being selected well and developed even better. You see one kid it could just be he had some great parents; when you've seen 25 or 30 of these kind of guys lately - cornerstone, 1st-round-of-the-draft types that even NFL teams build around - it's not an accident, there's some durn good evaluation coaching going on, and you start thinking this is just our culture now.

Easy to root for guys like this.

You have described the situation perfectly. Could not be more impressed with our young men. Where do mature kids like these come from.... Don't remember any like these at my high school.
