2005 season... WOW

Slow Friday at work so I was just scrolling through past schedules and wow, we lost 4 games that year by a combined 14 points. That year was the year of the 3 overtime loss to Miami (one of the craziest games I have ever attended.) 1 point loss to GT, overtime loss to BC, and 4 point loss at Wake that year. Crazy to think how close some of those Bowden teams came but he just could never get over that hump.

I never could get used to the underachievement of Bowden's teams.

I remember walking away from that season with that stat in my head and thinking what might have been. The Bowden years were a constant up and down for me. I became a fan in 1986 and got spoiled by Ford's teams. To me they epitomized what Clemson football was all about. It was just frustrating to watch Bowden's teams when my expectations were that high. I always knew what Clemson football should be and I'm glad Dabo brought it back.

Season is pretty much the embodiment of TB's tenure. Good, but not Excellent. Kinda got close, but not quite there (i.e. Bowden Bowl I and rest of series)

TB was part of the foundation that built who we are today - scored some big time recruits (Crosby and Da'Quan and JD) - but so glad those days are in the past.

...And - I think Wake is a pretty decent team. I just think Wake stayed the same and CLEMSON raised their game.
