Our final rankings each year are better than preseason.
Our final rankings each year exceed our recruiting ranks.

Alabama and Ohio State have a great staff of RECRUITERS, but on-the field results underperform.

Give Swinney's staff a team full of Alabama players and let's see how they perform. Why is everybody obsessed with a 'generational talent' like Watson, while ignoring that the rest of our team also outperformed the 5* roster at Bama.

Saban still cannot stop the spread with a dual threat QB if the team matches up well in the trenches. The game has evolved. He has not. If he couldn't just line up and beat you because he has a bunch of five stars he would not be where he is. Great coach but not the GOAT. I will say that his teams are very disciplined as far as avoiding mistakes on the field. Off the field, however, is another story. Guess it doesn't matter because his players can do what they want without consequence.

Anything below #1 is underperforming below those expectations. Granted those expectations are far far above anybody else.

He is a great college coach at a great location with the best talent in the country. When he had the same Joes as everyone else in the NFL he sucked.

Actually, Bama only has Saban, and the OC and DC are just there to pretend to do something. If you don;t call it the way Saban told you to, then you will be gone soon. Smart was the ONLY coach that probably called his own plays while at Bama. But that being said, notice that the Bama D did not have a drop off after Smart left. And notice that Saban had no qualms about letting his OC (Kiffen) go right at the most critical time of the season. It simply did not matter to him who called the plays.

Alabama and Ohio State have both won National Championships in the last 3 years , and Bama beat us to so it .

Not sure that's underperforming by even the strictest criteria.
