Muschamp and staff are a recruiting machine. How are we going to get any good players with the coot staff reeling in all of those two and three star prospects? I suppose we will just have to be content with the four and five star recruits and hope they can contribute something to our program.

His offer list included ( aside from USuC and 4 ACC teams ) ECU , Liberty , Old Dominion , James Madison and Yale .
He is the 1356th nationally ranked player according to 247 .
Not saying he can't play football in college , he just can't play at Clemson .

Per Rivals.com anyhow, he is a 5.4, 2-star rated player who does not list any other offers, and certainly not from any ACC schools. Scout.com has him as a three-star and while I do not have a membership to either place on the Scout.com site you can see a number of bylines claiming "ACC offers" for Gibbs.
It could be Rivals.com is simply not up to date on the kid, or it could be he's claiming offers to Scout.com that he does not actually have in order to self-promote. Kids do that for a variety of reasons, and not just ego - lots of people oversell themselves in order to try to induce an offer. So I dunno.
There's also various grades of offers. Maybe he does have some form of offers from various ACC schools, but are those offers commitable offers at the moment or are these schools just keeping him warm as a fallback?
Again, that information probably isn't public.
Rather than coming on here and claiming "lies and slander" and slinging derision around I'd be curious which is actually the case. It is a little curious that a kid from Virginia would pick South Carolina over, say, Virginia Tech at the moment so he probably doesn't have a VT offer - VT has proximity and is just plain a better, higher-profile program - but you could certainly see South Carolina beating out Wake, Pitt, or Syracuse for the guy, and possibly even UVA because UVA has been terrible lately.
So...hey. Congrats, I guess.
