I get it to a certain degree but in their case it's just a cop-out for not being able to recruit.

he can't compete with Clemson, UGA, etc. RE top recruits. He has to count on a recruit wanting to be a Gamecock, or a good recruit missing out on their first or second choice. They make get lucky with a diamond in the rough now and then.

There are 2 guys on their 2018 list of committed that I think Clemson showed any interest in . Joyner was one and the other is a LB from NC I believe but not sure .
They are on recruiting par with the Texas Tech/Illinois type teams . Ranked around 40/45 is a good class for them at this stage in Boomtown .

whining cause Bama gets all the 5 Stars. THough, it is hilarious how the Coot Fanbase is lapping it up from a coach that couldn't win at Florida,in the same division ,playing virtually the same schedule with 4 & 5 stars.
