Here's a T.I.P for poasters

Jun 22, 2017, 11:46 AM

I would guess at least 90% of the folks on this board either live in or would LOVE to live in or around Clemson.

If the mountains are higher, the heat is hotter, the bugs are fewer, and the allergens not as plentiful 2000 miles away - we don't care.

God's country always has and always will be - Clemson.

So here's the TIP...if you like it better somewhere else, stay there.

Hope that hth

Clemson could finally stack up against Miami if we only had a beach nearby.

I live at the beach and beach people are weird...mainly ones that grew up here. I grew up in Greenville so its been an adjustment living here and raising kids the right way. I don't recommend having the beach nearby. I see how the college kids are that attend UNCW.:(

Does it even get hot in Clemson?

Jun 22, 2017, 12:37 PM [ in reply to Clemson would be perfect if there were only ]

And I don't mean that humid heat, I mean real dry air heat that makes you lightheaded as soon as you walk out the door.

I contend that there are mountains close by and I'm sticking with my original statement. I don't care what any dang Yankees say.

You ever climb table rock? It's more than a stretch of the legs and the view is great.

Also after you cross hwy 123, cross under the RR tracks and go further 100 -200 yards down the road, the road cuts through a beautiful vein of pure quarts crystals. Great mementos from my days at CU.

I lived in the pecan terrace trailer park. ( just passed the RR underpass; not there any more). It was a Great home for newly weds. At 2 am every morning the train shook the bed giving a reminder it was time for that lovin' feeling.

I prefer the lowcountry of SC , but I grew up there .
There are few things more beautiful than a moss draped live oak or a look across the expansive tidal estuaries of the ACE basin .
I love Clemson , it has a special place ...but give me that salt air and sand .

I was born and lived in Greenville for the vast majority of my life. I moved 3 hrs. away 10 years ago due to work and have missed it since leaving. I return to visit as often as I can, but not enough to suit me. There's something special about the Upstate of SC that gets in your blood (probably mosquito bites) with the scenery and topography of the area. I consider it God's country. My hope and plans are to return to the area (somewhere between G'ville, Anderson, and Seneca) in approx. 3 yrs. after retirement.

Yankee = Someone who has origins north of Virginia (including Maryland) and usually along the east coast, but has chosen to live in the South AND appreciates the benefits of being here.

DA MN YANKEE = Same as above BUT, although they love the benefits of the South, they incessantly and obnoxiously complain that the South isn't "like it was" in the North, yet they refuse to move back there.

GIF is about a guy telling the internet's to leave Brittany Spears alone when she had her breakdown. Its me telling folks to leave you alone and to get back to their animal husbandry in the upstate.

Good luck in Utah. I imagine you will keep working your way West and will stop off at a PAC 10 school soon.

During my working days I visited New Mexico quite often. Most of the time the humidity was about 10% or lower. Have any of you ever experienced a dry shower? When I attempted to take a shower, the water would evaporate before it reached my body. Lots of static electricity and I received several nice jolts.
