.....really?! So, TRUE STORY FOLLOWS:

I was somewhat of a gym rat during my Clemson days, in addition to working at Fike, I spent a lot of time playing bball there. One day, looking for a pickup game, I tried the smaller 'side' courts as there wasn't anything going on in the main gym. So, I opened a door and walked into one of said smaller gyms/rooms with a game going full court. I stepped up to a couple guys there and asked if I could get next or perhaps run with them.

They said sorry, this was a class - RPA 301 - and not an open court. Seems the class and grade depended on their skill at officiating their class mates while playing basketball.....

I think Pete could've made the grades at Clemson.

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Even after a year at prep school, Pete couldn't get a high enough score on the SAT to get into any ACC school. This was back when the ACC required a higher test score than any other league.

Of course Pete wouldn't have returned to Clemson even if he had gotten a qualifying score. The plan was for him to play for Press at NC State, but when Pete couldn't qualify, he and Press packed up and went to LSU.

The ACC's decision to require higher SAT scores than other leagues is one of the primary reasons that prompted Frank McGuire and $CU to leave the ACC.

McGuire was convinced the move was a deliberate attempt by the league to prevent him from recruiting borderline illiterate players from the northeastern part of the country.
