Please Tmail me. Brief description of my issue. I am active duty Air Force physician for 14.5 years. I'm separating this fall and going to private practice. Looking at guard/reserves. Very specific reasons why reserves are better for me than guard as far as financial but mission of guard seems more appealing. I am having a crisis of decision because I assumed I'd go reserves but getting some bad vibes and some friends who did same who aren't happy. Considering options. If have advice I'll listen but don't want to sit all my business on here. Just seeking a lot of thoughts/advice before I decide. The prayers among you feel free to pray for me to know what His will is. Thanks.
My father was a reservist for 36 years. He was in Vietnam and spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan from 07-08. If it was an unhappy time I can't imagine he would have put that much time in. He worked for dla for 22 years, retired from there and went reserve on active duty. The only negative I heard him speak was when they forced him to retire at 58 and he wanted to make it to 60. But he was a chief master sergeant and two time senior enlisted advisor. Seemed to be pretty successful to me.
