Penley gambled that Langdale was physically able to play, and it appears that the gamble was a bad one. We can still qualify out of the regional, but this puts a lot of pressure on the other four guys.

Penley makes everyone earn their spot in the tournament and you can't pull them once it starts. Sure there is always something for a guy who can go low but isn't consistent, but hard to predict how someone will respond to the big event.

has been injured for much of this year. He is one of our most experienced golfers in terms of NCAA tournament appearances. Penley is probably just hoping he can get his game back on track, and help the team in the finals.

Also, when did Josh shoot a 62? Nottingham shot a 62 at the NC State tournament, and he's playing. Josh didn't play well at the ACC tournament. Finished +33 or something like that.

third hole. Having one player blow up just puts so much pressure on the other four players. It is pretty obvious that Austin probably wasn't ready to play physically.
