For what it's worth, I actually think Kelly wins the starting gig at Denver at some point. The NFL likes to act like it's an elite league full of unique and special flowers, and it is, but it ain't a Dark Art and the game is the same, and if you see guys who can beat those elite high-end-of-SEC and high-end-of-ACC-type defenses - and Chad Kelly did, repeatedly - you've got a quarterback good enough to make it in the NFL. He's just plain better than the crap-ola QB's ahead of him, whatever his off-the-field character issues.
Make fun of him all you want - and he does inspire that - but on the field Swag has legit game. And I think he may make Elway look like a genius.
Swag's a hothead and arrogant as sin...but honestly you could say the same thing about a young Jim Kelly. I think Mr. Irrelevant could end up making a lot of people look stupid this year. I mean, teams are fine with the likes of Dalvin Cook and Kenny Mixon and every other woman-rapin'-and-beatin' idiot in the draft, but they pan Kelly because of lack of character? Gimme a break on that one.
