What else was he going to do under the circumstances?
His Mea Culpa does not absolve him of the problem with his initial "hot take" ... it just states the obvious.
He was obnoxiously opinionated, and he was also dead wrong.
Which is all too often the case.
He gets paid to be obnoxiously opinionated, but it would help him a great deal if he was actually right more often.

He nailed it. I was concerned last night about Deshaun being drafted into a dead end situation. Of course, I would have been rooting hard for DW4 regardless of where he landed, but it will be so much easier rooting for him in Houston. I have only rooted for one NFL team in my life, but with Deshaun now in Houston, I look forward to having another team to root for.

and that DeShaun is very deserving, going 12th over being drafted higher is not a winner. It's more like Chicago are losers. There is probably a pretty good correlation between why they are losing and their draft picks.
I know we are all wearing orange colored glasses here but seriously? It doesn't take a genius to see that Watson was the BEST QB in the draft.
Cowart mistakingly used the word "winner" for "silver-lining". Yes, there is a silver-lining for Watson going to Houston but a birdie in hand is worth three in the bush. None of us know the future, especially those in the injury-laden NFL. I would take the millions upfront like must of us would.
Cowherd is wrong. Maybe he is back-tracking because of calling us "pretenders" before but is was wrong then and he is definitely wrong now. Hack.
