If Brownell comes back next year, what in

the world do we expect next year?? This team is a .500 team and next year we lose the top 2 rebounders and top 2 scorers. Without JB we're not even a double digit Win team this year.

JB isn't as big a loss as you think. The guy has zero heart or leadership. We will be the same as we have the last 6 seasons. Average but not tournament worthy.

He might not not have the leadership but

there is no one that will replace his production on the court and while Thomas is a better ofensive player than SD, he isn't close on the defensive end.

Not even close on the defensive end?!?! I bet he has more shot blocks that Djite. Djite has no idea how to come of lf ball screens. He consistently tries to rebound with both hands. You have absolutely no idea what you are watching if you thibk Djite is a good defensive player.

You're right on blocks. 1.3 to .8 a game. As far

as rebounds, Sid has him beat and he still is a better defensive player. I'm not saying he's a great player or anything but just that e don't have anybody to fill his shoes, s under whelming as they may be.

And I'm not sure why you feel he isn't a leader.
Losing his 18 points per game, as well as his rebounds, blocks, and overall presence, will hurt. He's the best player we have had in at least a decade.

and yet he cannot be counted on to make a play to win a game.
he simply hasn't shown a clutch instinct at all..
case in point - not catching the pass against Va Tech.
he should have at least drawn a foul on that play...
and I could go on as he missed shot after shot in the closing minutes of that game...

Dude looks the part but he can't dribble and create offense. He's a mid range floater type guy. He's really pissed me off this year. He seems too cool to go hard. His game did not get better. It stagnated.

Mitchell, Reed and Thomas. Problems with retaining Brownell are he'll have three years left on his contract which is not good for recruiting. You need a four year deal and we can't extend him. Also, his buyout only drops from 3.5 million to 3, so it's not like you are saving a ton of money.
If you're going to make a move, you do it after this season

BGame hasn't turned out to be the player the media

would like us to believe.
He has a long way to go to be a impactful player at the NBA level.
While we will miss him in certain areas
it won't be irreplaceable based on the talent that we have.
the key to next year is Grantham -
will the kid ever get his head out of his butt?

DG hasn't become the player in three years to match the hype he was given out of HS, so don't think it will magically appear next season. Prior to the start of this season, CBB said he needed to develop a more all around game to have an impact, but it hasn't happened. Could be he hasn't been pushed hard enough or earlier enough to develop a better skill set. Also, possibly not having much competition at his position impacted his motivation.

That why you get rid of Brad. They program is what it is in year 7. They will probably be predicted 12 or 13th in the ACC in early preseason polls. Time to give someone else's shot.
