I don't think many of the fans register that they were ranked #8 before bowl season. Even with the new system the Outback Bowl would have been calling. Maybe NY6? (Shrugs, Smiles, Shrugs again)

I remember, it was the year they beat a subpar Michigan team in a meaningless bowl, and did not even win the Sec East. Greatest year in their programs "history" ??

down, which they measured and you could clearly see they were short, and Spurrier ran out on the field and yelled at the ref to take another look. The ref looked squarely at the ball that was absolutely 2 inches short and said," Yep, just like I said, FIRST DOWN MICHIGAN". It was without a doubt the most deliberately bogus call I have ever seen, including the hundreds of ones I have bitched about in Clemson's defense, yet, I enjoyed it immensely.

Beats me. Coots were 5th in the SEC East, 11th out of all SEC teams. Out of all SC schools they ended up 8th out of 11. At least they were better than the 2014-2015 season when they finished 10th out of 11 teams.
